Bollywood celebrated couple Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor won the award at the Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Awards 2023. This prestigious award ceremony was held on Monday evening at a five-star hotel in Mumbai.
Alia won the best actress award for playing the Gangubai character in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Gangubai Kathiawadi, and Ranbir Kapoor won the best actor award for the action-adventure film Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva. As Ranbir was not present at the ceremony, Alia received the award on his behalf. Alia graced the red carpet with white attire. The award includes a Swarna Kamal (Golden Lotus) memento, a shawl, and a cash prize of ₹1,000,000 (US$13,000).
The prestigious award show was hosted by Shreyas Talpade and Ronit Roy, where they announced many other renowned actors and actress name to honour them. The Critics best actor award went to Varun Dhawan for ‘Bhediya,’ Vivek Agnihotri’s ‘The Kashmir Files’ won the Best film award, while Anupam Kher received the award for the Most Versatile Actor of the Year.
Anupam Kher posted a long thank you note saying that he dedicated this to the audiences who have loved him for the last 38 years. He promised that he would continue to dream and work hard. He also feels proud that ‘The Kashmir Files’ got the Best Film Award.
Rishab Shetty, actor-filmmaker, got the Most Promising Actor Award for his Kannada film Kantara.
Veteran actor Rekha also received an award for her ‘Outstanding Contribution to the Film Industry.’ She attended the ceremony in a golden saree.
