Fungal infection in the nose is also known as sinus infection is a common health issue it occurs when your sinus cavities get infected.
Nose infection has different types such as cold, sinus, and many more. The bacteria which cause cold that also causes fungus sinus infection. It's a mild health issue and doesn’t last more than a week.

- Sinus fungi already existed in the environment and if someone has weak immunity they easily get infected by bacteria. It enters your body through the nasal and traps in the sinus.
- It can spread by touching or came contact with an infected person.
- Some of the rare cases of an allergic reaction can develop a sinus fungus infection.

Here are common steps you can take to prevent sinus infection.
- Maintain good hygiene such as washing your hand with a handwash to prevent sinus infection.
- Avoid smoking which increases the chances of sinus infection.
- Use a mask to stay away from the pollution or chemicals that irritate the nasal passage.
- Drink plenty of water to prevent dryness if mucus gets dried nasal passage will get blocked and you might face difficulty breathing.
- If you are allergic to dust, mold, pet dander, or something else then avoid these things otherwise it can lead to sinus infection.
Should You Visit a Doctor for Sinus Infection?
Fungal infections in the nose are a rare health condition that occurs to those who have a weak immunity system or some other causes we mentioned earlier. If you have these symptoms then consult with a doctor as soon as possible.
- If your nose running, can’t breathe, or nasal congestion for more than 10 days then consult with a doctor.
- Continuous nose bleed for a few days.
- Swelling around the eyes and face.
- Can’t smell or taste.
- You might have a high fever and headache.
- If you are having blurry or double vision that means the infection is spreading rapidly.
- Color nasal discharge.
Nose Infection Treatment?
Here are common treatment options for fungal infection in the nose (sinus infection).
You can consume antifungal medication to treat your sinus infections. There are three types of medication available polyenes, triazoles, and echinocandins. You can consume it as a pill or inject it.
If your condition is getting serious then consult with your doctor. They might suggest you do surgery. During the surgery, they will remove the dead cells in your sinus.
It's a common solution that cleans mucus to clear the nasal passage.
