Vigilance Seizes Rs 1.10 Lakh From Kalahandi Civil Supplies Officer’s Vehicle

Kalahandi: Vigilance sleuths took Civil Supplies Officer (CSO) of Kalahandi, Siba Shankar Dora into custody after unaccounted money to the tune of Rs 1.10 lakh was recovered from his car on Wednesday.

Acting on a tip off, a staff of Kalahandi Vigilance division led by DSP Satyaban Mahananda intercepted Dora’s car close to Hill Town within the district whereas he was on his technique to residence from workplace yesterday and recovered money value Rs1.10 lakh from his possession.

The anti-corruption staff took the Civil Supplies Officer into custody after he failed to present passable rationalization concerning the seized money.

Following the seizure, Vigilance staff additionally carried out simultaneous raids at his rented home in Kalahandi and paternal home in Nabarangpur.

“After being tipped off that Dora was carrying around Rs 5 lakh, that he had illegally collected from the millers in the district, we intercepted him midway and raided his vehicle. We seized Rs 1.10 lakh from his possession,” knowledgeable Kalahandi Vigilance DSP, Satyaban Mahananda.

“When he could not give satisfactory reply regarding the source of the cash, we took him into custody. Further investigation into the case is underway,” added the DSP.
