WhatsApp users can now use the messaging application on four different Android devices. Currently, users of WhatsApp are able to sign in simultaneously on their smartphones and desktops. But everything will soon change. After testing the feature for several months, WhatsApp has now made the “companion mode” feature available to all beta testers. Prior to now, WhatsApp was observed testing the function with a select number of users. With the help of this feature, android users can simultaneously connect up to four devices and sync the chat history across them all.
According to WABetaInfo, companion mode is now available to all participants in WhatsApp beta for Android v2.23.8.2. If you currently use WhatsApp Android beta, you can update to the most recent version. However, it may require up to 24 hours to use the feature after initiating the download.
Users will be able to link their current WhatsApp account to another mobile phone with the help of this feature. After connecting an active WhatsApp account to a second mobile phone, users can read their chats on the second device without requiring an active internet connection on the first phone. The second device should be an Android phone or tablet, as the companion mode on WhatsApp for iOS is not yet available.
When you connect devices to your WhatsApp account, all your chat history will sync across those devices. Similar to what occurs when you simultaneously use WhatsApp on your phone and PC. Even though the companion mode is now accessible to all beta testers, some features might still be lacking, such as managing broadcast lists and posting a status update from the linked device.
WhatsApp’s companion mode allows you to link with the four devices at the same time, and all your personal messages and calls are encrypted from start to end.
