Microsoft Introduces Medical Note-Making App To Aid Doctors

With the use of  Open AI technology, Microsoft is continuously launching new applications and features. After the announcement of the integration of ChatGPT and other OpenAI tech in Edge, Bing, and Office, the CEO OF Microsoft, Satya Nadella, will now take a new step to help doctors in writing prescriptions or notes.

In an official press release, the company declared on Monday that Nuance Communications, which is a speech recognition subsidiary of Microsoft, would introduce a new application for healthcare workers.

The app is an AI-powered clinical notes application named Dragon Ambient eXperience (DAX) Express.

According to the report, the idea behind the app is to help healthcare workers in reducing their administrative burdens. Using OpenAI’s newest and most powerful model, GPT-4, Dragon Ambient eXperience (DAX) Express is the first workflow-integrated, fully automated clinical documentation tool.

Microsoft bought Nuance in 2021, a company that offers tools for better speech transcription as well as other services that may be used by medical professionals all around the world.

The DAX application, which Nuance developed in 2020 with the intention to help doctors by lessening the paperwork. More than 550,000 Dragon Medical users have used the DAX Express, which provides world-class AI and is now improved by GPT-4 and stepped up by the power of Microsoft Azure.

According to Nuance, DAX Express is the next step in AI technology delivery, offering healthcare organisations an immediate and very accessible entry point to embrace at scale a new generation of AI-powered apps.

Based on a press release from the company, DAX Express automatically and securely creates draft clinical notes in seconds for instant clinical review and completion after each patient visits in the exam room or via telehealth patient conversations by using a unique combination of conversational, ambient, and generative AI.

Nuance CEO Mark Benjamin stated, “We’ve taken power and advanced reasoning capabilities of GPT-4 and integrated it into our proven outcomes-focused AI technologies in a tested and responsible way.”

Google To Add AI Features In Docs, Gmail

Google and Microsoft are vying with one another to embed generative AI as much as possible into their productivity products. Prior to Microsoft’s “Future of Work” presentation, Google unveiled a significant update to Workspace that will integrate its generative AI models into nearly every area of its productivity suite.

Google revealed in a blog post that users would be able to generate text in Gmail and Docs using its own generative AI technology. In the near future, these two applications will be able to rapidly generate content on any particular topic, allowing users to elaborate or modify the text’s tone to meet their requirements, whether they wish to convey a light or professional tone.

The announcement shows Google’s determination to compete with its up-and-coming AI rivals. The search engine giant has been working hard to roll out equivalent AI capabilities in the wake of the launch of ChatGPT the year before and the launch of Microsoft’s chatbot-powered Bing in February. According to reports, the company declared a “code red” in December, asking staff to quickly incorporate AI tools into all of its user-facing products within a few months, which are used by billions of people.

Google has introduced a number of new updates to its Workspace application suite, which consists of Docs, Gmail, Slides, and Sheets. Below is a list of what users can do with these tools, as stated by the company.

Gmail: In Gmail, you may prioritise, summarise, and create a draft for your emails.

Docs: Using Docs, you can brainstorm, edit, write, and rewrite documents together.

Slides: With the help of auto-generated pictures, audio, and video in Slides, you may improve your presentations.

Sheets: Auto-completion, formula generation, and contextual classification in Sheets help to gain an understanding and analyse raw data.

Meet: Use Meet to customise backgrounds and take notes during video calls.

Chat: Chat can be used to improve workflows and streamline communication.

Google has announced that its next updates to Docs and Gmail will contain AI-powered features that create a draft text as soon as you type a few words about the subject you want to write about. Then, with the help of more AI ideas, these documents can be further enhanced and modified.

ChatGPT Plus Subscription Price Revealed For Indian User

On Friday, March 17, 2023, Open AI announced via Twitter that the ChatGPT Plus subscription is now available in India. Users in India can now take advantage of early access to new features, including the improved AI model GPT-4. GPT-4, which was introduced by OpenAI earlier this week, is available on ChatGPT Plus.

The CEO of OpenAI, Sam Altman, tweeted on Friday and posted “We adore India. Subscriptions to ChatGPT Plus are now made available in India. To get early access to new features, like GPT-4, visit chat.openai.com.”

OpenAI has released GPT-4, an advance to ChatGPT based on GPT-3.5 technology, a new language model that can produce text that is human-like. GPT-4 may assist users in generating and working together on creative projects like music, scripts, screenplays, and technical writing and is superior to its previous version in terms of creativity, visual comprehension, and context handling.

The technology is being made available to ChatGPT Plus members through data-sharing agreements with companies, including Morgan Stanley and Duolingo.

ChatGPT Plus costs US$ 20 (about Rs. 1650) each month. When Indian users open their account by login into chat.openai.com can see an “Upgrade to Plus” option in the left sidebar. If you click on it, a pop-up highlighting the advantages of selecting a subscription over the free version is displayed on the website. The subscription service guarantees quicker responses and priority access to new advancements, as well as early access to new features like GPT-4. There is currently no way for users of the free service to access it.

In addition to creative and visual input, OpenAI has increased GPT-4’s ability to handle lengthy contexts. The new language model can now process up to 25,000 words of user-provided text and interact with text from a user-provided web link. These improved capabilities can make it easier to create long-form content and “extended dialogues.”

Cold War For AI Dominance: Microsoft Introduces AI Integrated “Copilot”

Microsoft has introduced artificial intelligence (AI) integrated new chatbot tool called Microsoft 365 Copilot to assist users in writing documents, making presentations, composing emails, and more. The Copilot, powered by GPT-4 from OpenAI, is made for Microsoft 365 applications, including Word, Office, Excel, and others.

The release happened soon after Google revealed that it would be integrating AI capabilities into Gmail, Docs, and other Workspace apps.

According to Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, this technology will radically alter the way we interact with computers and unleash a new surge in productivity. “With our new copilot for work, we are giving people more agency and making technology more accessible through a universal interface – natural language.”

Users of Microsoft 365 will notice the Copilot tool as an assistant in their sidebar. The new tool lets PowerPoint users create presentations and Microsoft Word users make drafts. In addition, excel users can quickly analyze trends and make data visualizations.

The head of Microsoft 365, Jared Spataro, mentioned in a blog post, “It works alongside you, embedded in the apps millions of people use daily: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and more. Copilot is an entirely new method of working.

While Copilot in Teams will help every meeting be effective by assisting with tasks like summarising key conversation points and proposing action items in real-time during a meeting, Copilot in Outlook can quickly help organise the inbox. According to Microsoft, Copilot on the Power Platform will enable users to automate repetitive tasks, build chatbots, and much more.

Copilot, which acts as a chatbot, can aid offices by handling content-related tasks, but Spataro advises using the tool with caution because it may not always be accurate. “Copilot will sometimes be usefully right, sometimes wrong, but it will always pull you further ahead,” he writes.

The company further revealed that Microsoft 365 Copilot is currently under testing with eight Fortune 500 enterprises. In the coming months, the company will extend these broadly to users.

ChatGPT-4: How It Differs From Its Predecessor

Only four months have passed since ChatGPT was made public by artificial intelligence company OpenAI, which, without overstating its significance, altered the course of history. It has created apocalyptic scenarios in global job markets, upended educational systems, and attracted millions of users, from major financial institutions to app developers, in just 15 short weeks.

But, ChatGPT is already being replaced by ChatGPT-4, a more potent weapon that undoubtedly has much greater repercussions around the globe. So, What is ChatGPT-4? How is different from the previous one, what can it do, and how can you use it? Read to know about all these:

What is ChatGPT-4?

GPT-4 stands for “generative pretrained transformer 4,” and the Chat section is self-explanatory since it is an interactive computer interface. That means it’s the fourth version of the OpenAI software, which has studied a vast amount of data from all over the internet to learn how to produce text that sounds human and provide users with in-depth answers to questions.

How does ChatGPT-4 differ from its predecessor?

Anyone who has studied ChatGPT is well familiar with its limitations. It’s been denounced for giving inaccurate and biased answers.

The company claims that the latest AI language model, GPT-4 is more accurate, creative, and collaborative than its predecessor. Even it is capable of producing 40% more factual responses.

What can it do?

One of ChatGPT-4’s most impressive new features is its capacity to handle both words and images, which is known as “multimodal” technology. ChatGPT-4 allows users to upload a picture in addition to text to process and discuss.

What are its limits?

ChatGPT-4 functions similarly to its previous version when it comes to reasoning about current events because it was trained on data from before 2021. In a blog post released by OpenAI, the most recent version is still equipped with numerous recognised limitations that are under work to solve, such as social biases, hallucinations, and adversarial prompts.

How to use ChatGPT-4?

Despite limitations in some nations and areas around the world, the majority of individuals can try out basic ChatGPT by signing up with OpenAI. However, the most recent version is exclusively available to  ChatGPT plus subscribers for $20 per month- sign up here- and as an API tool for developers to incorporate into their applications.
