Rebel AAP MLA Alka Lamba to resign from social gathering, to contest Delhi polls as independent candidate

Rebel Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Alka Lamba on Sunday stated she might be resigning from the first membership of the social gathering over the variations along with her colleagues. Lamba additionally stated that she might be contesting the upcoming Delhi Assembly polls as an independent candidate.

However, Lamba clarified that she’s going to proceed to be an MLA of the meeting.

“I thought I should talk to the people and take a decision. It has been decided that I should break all ties with the Aam Aadmi Party and resign from its primary membership. I’ll soon tender my resignation from the primary membership of AAP in writing. But I will continue to be an MLA,” information company ANI quoted Lamba as saying.

The Chandni Chowk MLA, who has been at odds with the social gathering management for a while, stated she took the choice after consulting the individuals of her constituency via a Jan Sabha.

Lamba had earlier informed PTI that she had been disrespected by the social gathering on a number of events. nevertheless, AAP spokesperson Saurabh Bhardwaj had known as her a “chronic attention seeker”.

“I’m not called to meetings. I am insulted repeatedly. I spent 20 years in the Congress, and while I struggled with family politics even there, I do not even get basic respect in AAP,” information company PTI quoted her as saying then.

After the Aam Aadmi Party’s defeat within the Lok Sabha polls, Lamba was eliminated from the official WhatsApp group of its lawmakers after she had sought accountability from social gathering chief Arvind Kejriwal.

Lamba additionally refused to marketing campaign for the social gathering within the Lok Sabha polls and even refrained from taking part in Kejriwal’s roadshow after she was requested to stroll behind his automotive through the occasion.

In April, Lamba engaged in a bitter Twitter spat with Bharadwaj, who in a taunt, had her to resign from the social gathering.

She had first hit a tough patch with the AAP over its determination to cross a decision to revoke Rajiv Gandhi’s Bharat Ratna. Lamba had raised objections to the social gathering’s decision.

In December, she stated in a tweet that AAP had requested her to help the decision, which she refused. Lamba then added that she was prepared to face any punishment due to her actions. She had received the Chandni Chowk meeting seat within the 2013 Delhi elections. Before becoming a member of Kejriwal, she was a part of the Congress girls’s wing.
