Demand for HC bench: Economic blockade enters second day

Sambalpur: The financial blockade referred to as by the legal professionals urgent for the institution of everlasting bench of High Court in western Odisha entered the second day immediately.

The three-day financial blockade in 4 western districts of the State has been referred to as by the Western Odisha Central Action Committee (CAC) from yesterday in a bid to exert strain on the federal government for a HC bench.

According to sources, automobiles carrying uncooked supplies to numerous industries within the 4 districts – Sundergarh, Sambalpur Jharsuguda and Deogarh -have been stopped by the protestors.

Spokesperson of Western Odisha Central Action Committee (CAC), Sureswar Mishra mentioned “The permanent HC bench is the demand of the people and they are tired of the delay. This is why people in large numbers are supporting the economic blockade.”

Lawyers within the western components of the State have been agitating for the previous 4 months demanding a High Court bench within the area. Keeping in view the issues confronted by the individuals and disruption in judicial services, the Home division had earlier appealed the agitating legal professionals and different members to withdraw their protest.
