We’re pulling out of the treaty, because they out muscle us and we know it. They have us by the balls with their new and untouchable weapons. So, we pull out of the agreement to get closer. Reply November 1, 2018 exorientelux International law has the rule "pacta sunt servanda" (agreements must be kept). The USA has a long tradition of spitting on treaties, be it with the True Americans, the North American "Indians", be it with Iran or Russia. If you cannot trust a nation, because it considers treaties as temporary "deals", then this nation is – to put it mildly – a big problem for the international community.Politicians handling treaties as temporary "deals" should be facing an international court and spend the rest of their life in orange clothes behind prison bars. Reply November 1, 2018 Kieran Brooks Trump is doing this because he feels it’s unfair for the US… but I don’t think pulling out is going to benefit the US much either. As far as I can see, there isn’t much point in the US developing intermediate range land based missiles. This is because there aren’t any serious strategic targets within 500-3400 miles of their territory. (There’s no point in stationing them in Alaska since it only brings Siberia in range) America has more than enough nuclear weapons as it is, both submarine launched and silo based ICBMs to deter. Russia also has sufficient ICBMs to deter any aggression – so even if this treaty is abandoned, I don’t think it really has much of an effect either way on the general threat level. It just means that if it does all go wrong, we’ll all be dead 10x over instead of 5x over. Reply November 1, 2018 Shannon Nealy President Trump knows what he is doing!!!!!!!!!!!!! Reply November 1, 2018 Ulf Meier-Schulze By the way now it's in the news, Putin said to Bolton:"US steps we can't call friendly … despite all the care taken the bilateral trade volume is increasing" Something like this was to be expected, but the wording is delicious again.^^ Reply November 1, 2018 Ray Kirkham Bolton is only up to threatening the world with nuclear weapons. He needs to be taken out of there. Perhaps he is the best reason for Trump to be impeached…for putting us at risk by letting Bolton call the shots. Reply November 1, 2018 Albert Moore I'm afraid Bolton is being distracted from the real Putin intent, to annihilate the populations of both America and China by pre-emptive neutron bomb attacks. The fact that the West didn't act tougher on Russia in the first place, that's why Kremlin mobs go with the green light further with their invasive activity. The biggest Russia's motivation to act in with an invasive and aggressive way is the weakness of the West. The weakness of the West, allowing Kremlin mobs to do their destruction with no impunity. So much dirty Russian money in the Eu. Time to freeze assets, ban visas, and place more sanctions against Putin's closest oligarchs. Only tougher sanctions on them will do the job. Reply November 1, 2018 drgmbhatia It seems US withdrawal from INF treaty which aims at banning production & deployment of ground based intermediate missiles of up to 5500 km range by USA or Russia is aimed at China as China is out of this treaty & has huge arsenal of such missiles. It would be easier, cheaper & safer for the US to keep Intermediate Range Ballistic Missiles in its sparsely populated state of Alaska to hit major cities of North-East China including Beijing & yet the US mainland would be far away from the range of Chinese Intermediate range ballistic missiles. A very intelligent move by Donald Trump to keep on leash a belligerent China which has been showing very aggressive postures recently. Reply November 1, 2018 Don Spartan America run Britain.
